As an ophthalmologist and digital health entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience working in specialist private practices in both rural and urban areas, I have a deep-rooted connection to rural healthcare, originating from my upbringing in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, a tight-knit community of 4000. My passion for enhancing rural and remote eye health has been evident through my work with Lions Outback Vision for over five years, providing in-person specialist outreach Ophthalmology care. Highly experienced in telemedicine, I use technology to improve clinician-patient communication, aiming to enhance health outcomes significantly. As a staunch patient advocate, I am enthusiastic about the potential of digital innovations in healthcare.
Ben Dudley: In 2009, Ben Dudley embarked on a journey to simplify the complex business side of his wife’s private practice. Witnessing the administrative burden involved, he wanted to find a solution.
This personal quest led to the creation of Zento, now supporting over 100 medical specialists across Australia. At MedBiz, Ben will share his unique perspective and expertise from 15 years of supporting doctors in private practice with their billing and administration.
Serena West: I have provided insurance advice for just over 20 years. During that time I have seen so many situations for families and business and changes in the Australian market. MBS specialises purely in the provision of insurance advice, and we work with other professional to support clients.
Litsa Christodulou: Litsa has particular expertise and industry knowledge in providing accounting and management support within the health professionals
sector and building and construction industry, as a consequence of several long standing client relationships with specialist medical practitioners and dealing with one of the largest home builders in Australia. Litsa’s experience across numerous industries allows her to work closely with clients, whose businesses range in size and complexity, to develop, improve and achieve personal goals and business objectives.
Shaun Lyons: I am currently the Head of Sales at Magentus, Practice Management. I’m fortunate enough in my role, to speak with practices each and everyday to further understand how our technology can be leveraged
to drive better outcomes for the practice and ultimately the patient.
Ali Joyce: With over 17 years in the medical finance space, Ali has experience working with multiple medical lenders, so he has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to your business finance. Everyone who knows or who has worked with Ali would agree she is incredibly efficient and reliable.
James McLeod and David Rossback: James and David are both senior wealth advisers and partners at Capital Partners, who have chosen to specialise in working
with medical practitioners and assisting them in navigating the unique challenges faced by this profession.
Gae Nuttall: Gae Nuttall is a Risk Adviser at MDA National, joining the organisation in May 2015. Gae’s professional interests include medico-legal education, practice management and accreditation systems. She is also a Registered Nurse, with an interest in ‘all things
Medicare’. As part of MDA National’s Support in Practice team Gae provides practical assistance and advice to medical practitioners and practice managers to help reduce their medico-legal risk.
Kris Borgraeve: Kris Borgraeve brings a unique media perspective to business development and marketing for doctors. After a decade in broadcast, as a radio and television presenter in Belgium, he reconverted his
communication expertise to the field of digital communications. Since 2010, his business in Perth has been serving customers across Australia, and since 2016, Digital Practice has focused on serving surgeons and
specialists with their digital communication strategies.
